Strawberry Berwarna Biru Yang Tahan Beku!

Dilansir dari Strawbrryblu.com, para ilmuwan berhasil menghasilkan jenis strawberry berawarna biru dan mampu menahan suhu dingin. Caranya dengan melakukan transfer gen yang dilakukan pada buah strawberry. Dengan mengurangi gen dari strawberry dan  menambahkan gen dari spesies yang berbeda.

Terbentuknya jenis strawberry biru ini merupakan hasil  Genenetically Modified Organism (GMO) atau lebih dikenal dengan transfer genetik dari gen ikan yang ada di perairan laut Artik yaitu Arctic Flounder Fish. Ikan yang tinggal di kedalaman 300 kaki ini memproduksi gen anti beku pada      tubuhnya untuk melindungi tubuhnya dari suhu air yang sangat dingin.

Hasilnya strawberry tadi menjadi berwarna biru dan tidak akan berubah menjadi beku dan benyek ataupun berubah suhunya menjadi lebih dingin bila di letakkan didalam lemari pendingin. Namun sayangnya, buah ini masih belum dapat dikonsumsi. Karena penelitiannya masih dalam proses untuk mengetahui apakah buah ini aman dikonsumsi atau tidak. Hmmm bagaimana rasanya mengkonsumsi strawberry biru anti beku ini ya?
